2011 TOURNAMENT RULES

  • All contestants MUST BE THE HOLDERS OF A CURRENT TROUT FISHING LICENCE for the Eastern Fish and Game Council and must comply with its terms, these Tournament Rules, all statutory and authority requirements and directions from authorized officers during the Tournament.

  • All contestants enter the Tournament at their own risk. The organisers do not accept any responsibility for your personal injury or loss or damage to property during the Tournament.

  • Fishing by contestants is restricted to the Rotorua District waters except lake Aniwhenua, Flaxy Lake and Wild River Fisheries.

 

  • All contestants must enter on or before 8pm Thursday 17th November 2011. Entries may be limited.

 

  • The Tournament will commence at 5.00am on Friday 18th November and will close at 3.00pm on Sunday 20th November 2011.

 

  • Weigh-in, prize giving, bar and refreshment facilities are at the times published with these rules (see below).

  • All trout measuring 45cm and above will be eligible to be weighed in and recorded by the organisers at the weigh-in times. 

  • Contestants must be wearing their Tournament Badge at all times when fishing and when weighing in catches.

  • Trout which have been cleaned or frozen will not be accepted for the Tournament.

  • Random enquiries and tests may be carried out throughout the Tournament to establish authenticity of the contestants claims to the judge’s satisfaction.

  • The judges retain the right to hold any trout submitted for the weigh-in at any time during the Tournament.

  • No judge is eligible to fish in the Tournament.

  • If any two or more trout of the same weight become eligible for a prize, the first trout weighed in will take that prize.

  • The heaviest rainbow trout overall shall not receive any other major prize.

 

  • Any one fish shall qualify for only one major prize category.

  • The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • Contestants will allow the organizers the use of photographs and videos taken during the Tournament and details of prizewinners for publicity and promotion purposes.

  • If fishing from a boat, all persons aboard shall be registered contestants, except in the case of a Charter Skipper.

  • Contestants who breach any of the Tournament Rules shall be immediately disqualified from the Tournament.

  • License must be produced when registering.

  • The use of treble hooks will not be permitted in this tournament. All fish will be checked.

  • The responsibility for removal of all prizes rests with the successful entrant.

  • Prizes are presented by the organizers in good faith and no responsibility or liability is accepted by the organizers after the prizes have been accepted by the winners.
    The organisers reserve the right to amend prizes without notice.
  • Prize allocation is at the discretion of the organising committee.

 

  • Members of the Rotorua East Lions Club will not be eligible to enter this tournament.   
       

ENTRANTS PLEASE NOTE:  TOURNAMENT TIMETABLE

Registrations:

Contestants may register at the Tournament Headquarters, Arawa Lounge, Rotorua Racecourse, Fenton St, from 3.00pm  to 8pm Thursday 17th November. LICENCE MUST BE PRODUCED. Registrations also available at weigh-in provided paid entry has been completed prior to 8pm Thursday 17th November.

Pre-Tournament Briefing:

Will be held at 7pm Thursday 17th November at the Tournament Headquarters, Arawa Lounge, Rotorua Racecourse, Fenton St.  All contestants are urged to attend. A number of “Spot Prizes” will be won by contestants present.

Bar Hours:

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 5pm onward, Sunday 1.00pm onwards. Hot food will also be available.

Prize Giving:

Daily Lucky Entry Draws between 7.30pm and 8.30pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday 4pm to 6pm.

Weigh-in Times:

Friday - noon to 12.30pm, 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Saturday - noon to 12.30pm, 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Sunday - noon to 12.30pm, 3.00pm to 4.00pm.
